Holly MarksonRochester Recording Connection

Lesson 1 Posted on 2014-12-10 by Holly Markson

Very exciting and mind blowing.  Learned about basic principles and how music/vibrations/sound is heard, processed and measured.  Learning how my ear takes in all the sound and transfers to my brain was really amazing.  Me mentor, Sebastian stressed how frequency (Hz), level (dB) and time (in seconds) are the three core components of recording.  Since I've always had a love of math a lot of this came pretty easily to me but at the same time putting all the principles together can be tricky.  While having my lesson at ACME studio, I spoke with the owner, Steve McNally, and he gave me a lot encouragaing words and stressed that what I put into this program I will get out of it.  All in all, it was a great experience and I'm looking forward for what is to come!
