Chapter 01 - Youngster Posted on 2018-06-04 by Darrel Kidd

Hello! I'm not to sure how to write a blog, nor i dont know really what to put to be honest but I'd figure i would start from when i was 12. That was the year when my mother got me my first rap album.

I vividly remember it was on my birthday and i think she got it for me because i shown some interest in the rap genre at the time. Which was confusing to her because she was a pop head, and the guy that raised me was into classic rock n' roll bands but that's beside the point. My first CD was "Lil Jon & the EastSide Boyz." Not sure if thats the correct way to spell it but we will go with it for now. Either way, i fell in love with the album pretty fast and that was when my mother realized that was the wrong album to give a child. But what got me was her defense, which still to this day makes me laugh. "I didn't think it would be that offensive!" yet on the cover of the album, the artist's are pooring out liquor, in the strip club, and there's song on the back of the album literally with the title "Stop Fu**in wit me."

Either way, i know i dont blame my mother for my introduction to rap music. I blame that on my step dad Chad and uncle Duke, what really caught me off guard though was my love and passion for music in general. It was when i first got this CD that i saw how much i wanted to own as many CD's as possible and listen to all different types of music. Thus the drive and desire to be apart of the music industry was born.
