Lesson #3, Digital Audio Posted on 2015-03-04 by Jonathan Santos

In this lesson I learned what was the sample rate and the bit depth, how the analog signal converts to digital signal, that are "1"'s and "0"'s. About the Nyquist Theorem, and examples about how it works and the things you can do and don't do. Also we went thru the usage of the low pass filter.
Another information about the noise and the clipping when the amplitude is higher.
Also i learned about the digital recorders, multi-track recorders, and the new technology about recording with modern gear like pro tools.
The formats of the audio like mp3, wav, wma, m4a, and which one to use or not. Some storage things too. A little bit of sequencers and samplers. This chapter was full of new information, and very basic to start as an audio engineer.

The sessions in the studio were fun, Josquin and Thomas were working on different projects of mixing a song and in another session recording some vocals with Nova.
Working inside the studio from the very first day has been amazing until now.
Let's keep learning and learning everyday as much as we can.
