Hi, my name is Stephen and my passion is the art of sound. Since making mix tapes from the records of my family members at a very young age, I have always been attuned to the quality of sound. I’d find the part of the song, or album, that was the loudest and set my levels for the tape. Sometimes patch the 21 band EQ in and make a few changes of my own. I liked to be in control of the sound. At around 10 or so, I just had to know how all that stuff came together.  So since then I have been into audio in many forms. Home stereo setup and calibration, car stereos, crossovers and spectrum analyzers. I love all that stuff. I have always romanced the idea of being in a studio as well but never knew any avenues through which I could really get any experience of the sort. Around 2004 when I discovered DAW software, I began to pick up the skills and was enjoying some great fun mixing and mastering on my own. Throughout those years I have watched an incredible amount of videos and have read lots of material written by peers and pros. I wanted to multitrack my own music and make some songs that I had in my head. So this was a great way to test out my song writing skills. I didn’t really have much gear so it was my instruments DI into my computer. However, it was great experience and I was getting the sound I wanted. I have written three original songs and worked with other bands writing as well.

The real joy came when I began to take the stems of other works and mix those. It gets you intimate with the talent of the band! Great musicians, lots of tracks…I just love it…I love the challenge. Now, I think I have hit the limit of what I can achieve on my own and am excited to embark on a new adventure with a great mentor in an awesome studio. I look forward to all of the challenges and the gaining of great wisdom in this fantastic art. Cheers!
