As we all know not all students have the same experience while going to school. This blog will give a little glimpse of my personal experience while going through the Basic Audio Engineer program at Recording connection. My experience has been a whirlwind rollercoaster. I've been at this program for a year now and on my third studio. Throughout this year I have been battling homelessness, jail, being unemployeed, and working on call 24/7 with dead people. I have faced many obstacles in this past year, with being falsely accused of domestic violence that landed me in jail for three months and cost me everything that i had worked hard for up to that point. Once I was released with all charges dropped I ended up homeless yet my only concern was getting back to learning to become an audio engineer. The first two studios I attended I wasn't getting hands on experience like I was supposed to and it took 3 months to find the one I'm at now after the three months I spent in jail. Since I've been pointed in the direction of Unique Recording Studio with Shane Anderson, I can say I have gained a lot of valuable knowledge from him and got much needed hands on experience. I also landed a job picking up dead people that has me on call 24/7. With every paycheck I get I am able to buy another piece of music equipment that I need to operate my own mobile studio. Throughout this whole life journey I never gave up on myself when it could have been really easy to do. I have to thank Recording Connection, Ivan Rodriguez, Shane Anderson, and myself in believeing in me and continuing to work with me.
