Due to my avid code getting denied, I wasn't able to bring my copy of pro tools to class. Zack was planning to show me more about the program but instead we took a deeper look into the SSL 4000 E mixing board. He opened a 8 bar Work-in-progress in Pro Tools, copied and duplicated it, and let it run in a loop for me to add effects to it. I started EQ'ing the low end first and worked my way up to the high frequencies synths. I asked how to put reverb on one of the piano samples and he connected the piano's channel through an external reverb sampler via the mix bus. The options on the sampler seemed endless! This really opened my eyes into how much modulation was needed for a simple reverb.
Time kind of flew by when I was mixing. I checked my watch and my session was already over! I hope to get pro tools in the next couple of days so I can be more than ready with my next session with Zack.
Until next time!
