SEATTLE, WASHINGTON AUDIO ENGINEERS AND MUSIC PRODUCERS

Perhaps best known as the cradle of 'grunge' rock in the late 1980's, Seattle continues to be a major cultural hub for the Pacific Northwest region, with an active and diverse music scene that includes indie-rock, alternative, hip-hop, metal and numerous other genres. For a city of less than 700,000 people, Seattle has produced more nationally-known talent over the years than cities twice and three times its size. Quincy Jones, Kenny G, Nirvana, Heart, Foo Fighters, Death Cab for Cutie, Pearl Jam, Fleet Foxes, and Brandi Carlisle are just a few of the bands and artists with ties to the Seattle area music scene.

Down to earth but driven. That can be the best way to describe our students. You don't necessarily need a fancy backstory or a dramatic "call to arms" reasoning for making a commitment to joining the music industry. Usually you will find our students have a drive to learn all they can about engineering and make it in this industry, but at the same time our young men and women have few differences between you and I.

A great example of this is Thomas Gentil, he joined our program right after high school because of his passion for music and affinity for surrounding himself with like-minded individuals. Soon his mentor found the best way to progress in our program and Thomas quickly learned that, like most of our students, our program isn't too hard to understand, when you have the drive and commonsense necessary to survive in the real world.

"Coming out of high school I wasn't really sure of myself. I'm 18 years old, I haven't had any college classes or community college, I just went straight into this program just because I was interested in music and I thought I thought audio engineering was omething that I would like to pursue. I always had a passion for music, I was in a band in high school, I had a couple of buddies that have access to, not a project studio, but their own home recording studio. I would kind of go there and it intrigued me a lot, I was just interested in that and wanted to learn more so I found you guys (The Recording Connection)."
