Tonight was a pretty awesome course, I got to sit in with students from UW. We disected drums from different songs and different genres. Jason Lackey one of the lead engineers was teaching the course, and you could tell he was geeking out on teaching this segment of the class. Tracking drums is something I am a little familar with but it was great to go in depth about placement, rooms, channels, mics... We covered The Eagles, Zepplin, Hans Zimmer, Street light Manifesto, and a swing band that I forgot the name of. I cant wait to get started with the hands on segment but it was cool to get to breakdown the drum patterns with these different genres.
