This weeks session was awesome, informative and insightful. Mark, my mentor of Fastback studios/seattle broke down the importance of acoustical room treaments, reflection, absoption and diffusion. The benefit having just the right amount of each. I had a scale drawing of my Project studio for mark to view. He calculated how much of absoption and diffusion would be needed. Also suggest I position myself in the sweet spot, (45%) length of room. The environment was active with client session being set up for tracking. Explained how crucial it is to begin with a dialed in room for monitoring playback, ensuring any editing and mixing will be accurate. If the room or monitors add to the sound, your decisions while mixing are from an incorrect sonic image. I could go on and on...but you had to be there. Another great session! It's all starting to come together....
