In the past weeks I haven’t been doing any lessons due to my mentor relocating his studio. I got to help him some days break down a lot of the equipment and take apart his Harrison mixer. It was really interesting because this is the first time I really got to see how the routing and the connection of the studio is. I didn’t know that there were tons and tons of wires/snakes hidden behind a lot of the equipment. Taking everything apart really showed me how import routing is and how you should label everything so you don’t get mixed up in the process. I have been working more on my own system currently for mixing but my mentor let me borrow his Neumann TLM 103 to record. There was a drastic difference in the quality of my songs from my MXL V87 mic that I use. Hopefully everything is put together back at my mentors new studio so we can get back to my lessons.
