This Week In the studio while assisting I was introduced to a new concept of pitching vocals.  My mentor was having a problem trying to get the corrected lowered harmony without distorting the vocal using a plugin so made the artist say the phrases in a harmony different from the original then pitched that down a few semitones.  That was something he never tried before but got the idea from figuring out the keys of the song on his guitar.  It was cool to see the incorporation of Music theory into audio engineering.
