I'm officially mixing! It feels good to get to a point in the program where I am able to mix. I will admit, it isn't easy, in fact it's quite hard. But nothing in life worth doing is easy, right? I LOVE playing around on Pro Tools to see what kind of sounds I get.

I recently purchased an ebook from producer Jordan Valeriote, who produces for some of my favorite bands, including Silverstein. It's all about mixing and how to get a great mix with minimal tools! I also got a mixing guide from Jordan, and it recommends EQ'ing edits and compression techniques to use for each individual instrument. It's all specifically designed for hard rock, heavy metal, and hardcore music, which is PERFECT for me, because that is the exact type of music I am interested in!

I've been having troubles downloading the song for my mix assignment, but I will easily catch up once it's downloaded. It's a great song, and I'm stoked to work on it!

Not much else to say right now, on to Chapter 13!
