       Throughout the first chapter of the course I wasn't sure what to expect. I’m coming into this program with no past knowledge of any recording techniques or terminology. I must say that after reading through, taking notes, and speaking with my instructor Tom Deglman; I am confident going forward in the curriculum. Tom was very thorough with everything that I’d need in the near future as the program progresses. He helped me set up a Dropbox account and a “shared folder” in order to have easy access to any documents we may need. We also went over a demonstration in studio about phase and phase shift. The demo along with Tom’s insight definitely helped me grasp the concept of phase. I’m looking forward to beginning the following chapter!
