New Client/ Lesson 18

Tonight Kris had a session with a new client that was an old friend. First,  Kris listen to the CD that his friend brought of the singer singing his song. While they were doing that Chris ,the lead guitarist of the gospel band Kris has been working with,  arrived to play the rhythm guitar part of the song. Before Kris started recording, He added a click track to the song for Chris to play to, then Kris set up the mics for the acoustic guitar. Kris used a condenser mic and ribbon mic to make the mid/side micing technique. After everything was set up, we started recording. They did about three whole take of the song, then the decided to let Chris play some lead fills for the song to see what they got. They did about three whole takes of the song. After Chris was done the other person that was originally talked to about lead showed up. Kris had him play some lead on acoustic and eclectic. He took three takes of the acoustic and electric. After he was done with the acoustic, I miced up his amp with a ribbon mic right on the center of the cone. After everything was recorded, they called it a night and then Kris and I went over my homework and my mix then we called it a night.
