Mic placement Posted on 2014-09-25 by Jose Briceno

I had the assigment of micking a drum. It was really good, 10 mics in total, 3 for the kick, 2 for the snare , 2 OH, and the 1 for hi hat and 1 for each tom.

Then I connected all the wires to the snake, occupying then channels. From there to the patchbay and then to protools.

A couple of Peluso large diaphragm condenser for the OH, shure beta 91 for the kick's attack, one D12 for inside the kick drum and one u47 for the kick out.

The snare had a M201 for the top and a i5 for the side, that combination creates a really bright and thick sound.

The Sm81 for the hi hat had a very crispy sound that i liked.
