Lesson 2 was very interesting because Brett and I went in depth on analog and digital. Today i got to see how a compressor works compared with digital and analog, and i got to see the difference in sound between the two. Brett showed me a vocal track using a reverb plug-in compared to a digital plug-in and to me there was a big difference. With the digital plug-in for reverb it took more of a adjustment to really hear a big difference but compared to analog it was right away more dominant. In my opinion I liked the analog plug-in for reverb a lot more, but i guess it all depends what sound you're looking for. I could definitely see myself using both on projects. Brett has an amazing amount of outboard gear and i look forward to getting to see how the rest works in the future. Tomorrow i get to sit in on my first session where i get to see a bass player put his work into a song.
