Chapter 6 blog Posted on 2014-03-11 by Dallas Cara

Tues, March 4th/2014: School start time 2pm- Finished at 6:30pm

Today I drew out a signal path from live room>mic>mixing board>skipping protools>monitors. Then I drew out signal flow going through preamp>protools through the patch bay. After that we took apart an old ribbon mic that wasn't working, to see if we could fix it and get some signal through it. We found out the ribbon itself broke away from its connectors and wasn't long enough to reattach it. So it didnt end up working again but it was fun taking it apart.

Friday, March 7th/2014: School started at 10am. Finished at 6pm.

Today we mixed down a few tracks from Tiffany Desrosier's album(ep). A pop track with a heavier hip hoppy beat and then another more ballady track with just her singing over a piano. We added some reverb and other effects to her voice and added some delay and echo to some parts of her vocals. That was fun. Then for the rest of the day, we did some mix updates for Donald Adams album we've been recording and mixing. That was also very fun. I also cleaned and tidied the recording studio and did some dishes, things I usually do every day... It was another sweet week at Blue Light Studio. :)
