For my tenth sessions, i went in and got a lesson on plugins and how they are used for the various compressing, equalizing, pitch correcting, and time related effects that we hear on all kinds of recordings past and present. Effects have always been a passion of mine since i first started listening to music. Some of the first artists i listened to and started learning about like Tool utilized almost countless amounts of analog pedals. To have all these kinds of effects at the tip of your finger and to be able to manipulate almost every parameter is great. I sat in a recording session with the Pearl Jam cover band "Ten". They are all extremely talented musicians and went above and beyond the original recordings in my opinion. It was great to watch the second engineer Tyson get down all the excellent vocals, guitar tracks and bass tracks that he did out of them. Look forward to my next session!
