Let me begin by saying I've used so many new plugins this week that it's rediculous. By "rediculous" I mean wow I can't believe what I've been missing out on. I'm finally grasping how to mold my own sounds to sound the way I want them to. My improvements this week have been amazing, I'm now using sends, inserts, and busses the correct way, my workflow and quick key commands in logic and protools are improving, and my favorite part is that my music is starting to sound more "ME" than ever. I went into the studio only twice this week because of scheduling misunderstandings but none the less I still got my hours in. Monday I worked with andrew again, just going through different plugins we have at the studio and on Friday I had the opportunity to work alongside Rob Sanchez whom pretty much built MMP into what it is today. That was a great lesson with him, we may have not been able to get too much done with him needing to re setup our whole system in studio A but I definately learned what I could and got good one on one time with a very wise man. He even told me were going to schedule another day in this upcoming week so I have that to look forward to. Rewinding back a bit, on Thursday I had an online tutoring session with Marina Antekelion (My Student Advisor) and we went on Pro-Tools to pretty much go through all the basics over again to solidify it in my memory. This weekend after I took my chapter quiz I recieved an email from someone with RRC and they told me they like the blogs I've been posting every sunday and they are even going to feature me in the "Daily Life of a Student" section on their website, so thats exciting! Next week is Midterm week.....should be a breeze, can't wait!
