Well when I got to Donnie's he looked tired and exhausted but there was an excitement in the air. All of the stuff he purchased came in and for the past days he was demolishing, installing, and cleaning up the studio. His new analog console from the UK looked great and it came with a bunch of cables. Two of the other interns were there and we all settled down to help Donnie install and hook up stuff. I basically plugged in the cables in the back of the console and followed the number sequence they were sent in, while one of the interns prepared and layed stuff out. It was good team work and it took about 2hrs until we finished plugging things in. Two of Donnie's past interns came through but soon left because they did not want to take up space in the main room and felt the the situation was under control. When I left the main console was patched except for a few cables which needed turn-arounds at the ends and Donnie said he would handle that himself.
I did have a question about my mix assignment but it could have waited, helping Donnie I felt was more important so he can start making money in that studio. Looking forward to seeing it again when I go back - probably for the last time for awhile - next Wednesday.
