To get a sense of what the entire scene is about during a recording session, Don Z. invited me to sit in on a session where he was recording local artists conglomerate Braddock Station Garrison.  It was nice time, and fun music-- the vocalist reminds me of the singer from the band Television for some reason, but very mildly.  I observed how Don was directing, editing, and the things he was putting emphasis on, showing me what they listen for, and exactly how each track is laid down sequentially.   Interesting to note when he isolated the monitor to only what was being recorded.  Was my first introductiont to how not only is there a direct tracking of electric guitars, but most often the sound from the amp is mic'ed and recorded as well for a different, possibly better sound.  Afterward we all went out for chili and brews at a local venue here, Hard Times Cafe.  Overall an educational experience!
