I am finally getting all the studio jargon that use to confuse the heck out of me when in the middle of a conversation on mixing/prod. After going over the last quiz I took I should Jim some techniques I've learned from several videos on you tube he has sent me or I have found on my own. We went over these mix sessions; I explained to him why I did what I did and he gave me some reassurance that it was either a right move, not aggressive enough or totally bananas! After looking over, he said he was impressed and said he would put some of his old sessions in my dropbox so I could mix and play with later! I think I'm starting to feel a bit more respect from some friends and family for my position in the music industry, although there is a long road ahead, it was cool to get a professionals thumbs up! After the session Jim explained he had some audio book sessions that I might could get my hands dirty with for more experience and pay! Say word! Now you are speaking my langauge! It's not all about the money, but it is my goal in life to get paid doing what I am passionate about. No rush, but I feel the urgency to know everything now! which is an issue, but I try to remind myself to stay grounded, humble, focused and the rest will come eventually.
THE BIG PAY BACK! SHABOOM!
