Hi, My name is Darryl Thiessen. I graduated from Garden valley collegiate High school in the summer of 2012. After graduating I took the next year to decide what I really wanted to do for a career. It was soon after I started working at a window factory that I found what I wanted to do as a career.

When I first found out that you could make a career out of listening and helping make music, I knew that this was something for me. I have always loved music and I can't think of anything greater than being a part of a project that makes it big. I still love looking for new types of music that I can listen to while I'm working out or playing sports. Sometimes I would try my best to create my own songs by using accapella's I could find on youtube. Unfortunatly most of the free programs that I could find to mix the songs weren't able to do to many different actions. Either way I enjoyed trying to piece together my own songs.

One thing I really like about this field is that when you sign up for this type of education, you're not limited to just one career option. I like that you don't have to just work in a studio, you can work for T.V shows, movies and even record live concerts. It's definitly not a 9-5 office job. I look forward to learning a lot in the next couple of months and hopefully make some new friends in the process.
