A few years ago in Winnipeg, a pilot was flying over Lake Winnipeg, in a float plane. He lost his perception of the water from the angle he was descending on, and one of his pontoons clipped the water the wrong way, flipping the plane over. His seat belt was jammed and he was hanging upside down. Everything seemed fine until the plane started to sink and he began to panic. He reached for his knife to cut the seat belt, but he dropped it and the knife went out of reach. In his last moments, he grabbed his water proof bag that floated by him, grabbed a pen and paper from within it, wrote a letter which explained the event that he just went through; and then he put it back in his water proof bag, and drowned in his plane 17 minutes after crash landing. When the rescue team arrived shortly after, they found the wreckage, and the body, and the bag with the letter. One of Travis' friends went to the funeral and heard the story, later telling Travis all about it. From the story, the band Guys with wives came up with 17 (minutes) which is a great song. Today at bedside I spent several hours mixing it and editing timing. It's coming along well!
