Today Len and I talked about my upcoming project at Bedside. I want to record 4 songs, all around 6-7 minutes long. They would consist of drums, acoustic 6/12 string, bass, vocals, overdubs, electric guitars, organs, rodes piano, and several different solos. The 4 songs, (Suicide Thoughts, Cancer, Water Runs Through You and Time Well Spent) were all written for the many friends of mine that passed away too soon in the wrong circumstances. So I didn't want to change them, no matter what Len thought of them, because my best friend who heard them in the past that recently passed away loved them the way they were. I had a vision of how everything was to sound in the end and I wanted to pave my own road ahead of me. Eventually Len backed off the rewriting idea of the songs, and we got talking about who was going to play all these instruments. I play drums, bass, keys, bouzouki, banjo, guitar, harmonica, ukelele and I sing, but I wasn't sure if I was able to do all of these for the album, I figured I should get some great musicians to help me with this project.

SO I decided to to ask Travis if he would be ever so kind as to be apart of my album, and record the bass, organ with Leslie Cab and Rodes electric piano, and he said that would be no problem. Len called up Todd, the drummer for his band and we were able to set up a date for when Todd could come in a track the drums for the 4 songs.

I have 8 guitars so I decided to give Len my Gibson Les Paul: Studio, Dean Flying V, and B.C. Rich KKW electric guitars as well as 500$ for 55 hours worth of recording time, which would essentially be worth $2,750, which also includes two studio musicians for the bass, keys and drums which would save me huge amounts of time and money. Plus advice and help from Len, and the other students in the program. It was such a great deal, and I had guitars to spare. 3 guitars and 500$ for a total of $3500 worth of recording time was going to be worth it!
