Global Warming! Posted on 2016-08-26 by Jermaine Gibbs

Short Link: http://rrfedu.net/6015     Global Warming!   Global warming is to be taken seriously, because of gradual heating of Earth's surface, ocean and atmosphere. With temperature rising in record numbers this summer, was more than a indication that global warming can have damaging effects on planet Earth. With erratic climate and weather extremes, as a results of emission of heat-trapping gases from human activity, especially the burning of fossil fuels for energy, cause our atmosphere to heat up. A warmer atmosphere causes the planet's snow pack, glaciers and sea and freshwater ice to melt at an accelerated pace. Melting glaciers and polar ice sheets contribute to sea level rise. With the rising of sea levels and the oceans are getting hotter, expanding everyday make it difficult for many life. You have many species that depend on the ecosystems for their foods and as a living environment. But with climatic rapidly shifting, the entire ecosystems are at risk of collapsing. Human life is at risk too, cause we have to decided where, how and when we grow food. All over the world, farmers are struggling to keep up with shifting weather and increasingly unpredictable water supplies. Farmers also must contend with unexpected attack from weeds, diseases and pests, which affected yield. More extreme weather also means we face increased pressure on our health, infrastructure, and economy. A warmer atmosphere increases chemical reactions that form ground-level ozone, also known as smog. Smog is a well known lung irritant and a major trigger of asthma attacks. Smoke from wildfires further degraded the air. Hot weather, flooding and other extreme weather events damage infrastructure, and put heavy burdens on electrical supplies, and disrupt how we travel and commute. So we should resist from burning fossil fuels and deforestation now, if not global warming can have devastating consequences for planet Earth.
