My Time with Joe Delfino Posted on 2018-09-12 by Elianne Nascimento

I have been terrible about blogging during my course, but did want to briefly write down some thoughts I have. I have been fiddling around with the same mix assignment since it was assigned, and after an additional 4 hours of work this evening, I've mastered my first piece of work, and I couldn't be more thrilled. I am working on a piece of music for a film called "I Married Black" currently, and I am recording/mixing audio to be mastered by my producer in LA for the film. I can't express how much I've grown as a person and as a musician pursuing something like this and working with someone like Joe who has been such an astounding instructor. I have been able to apply a lot of what I've learned to live sound, and have been in the position of averting quite a few crises with some engineers that couldn't quite level my band and I out at venues. I've been able to help with our band's backing tracks, and smoothing out samples for medleys, and UGH I am so happy!!! I can' wait to learn more. This was such a terrifying endeavor for me, as I had literally no idea what I was getting myself into, or if I could afford it, or if I would be terrible at it... so many variables! I'm glad I decided to do this, and I am so proud of myself for going through with this and for devoting my time to this.
