My entire time for this session was watching and learning about servicing the SSL. Chad and Charlie brought in a Tech named Jeffrey out of Tampa that fixes mixing consoles. Jeffrey has alot of knowledge in electronics and engineering. Very cool cat.
I knew the SSL was a powrerful piece of equipment. Didn't realize how intricate the circuitry would be. It is massive. Along with installing a 3.5 inch floppy to the SSL computer, Jeffery was there to fix some other issues with the master section. Again, it is trial and error with trying to diagnoise the issue. Following the signal path step by step. I was there for 5 hours and by the time I left Jeffrey diagnoised the master section issue as being a few circuits on one of the many circuit boards of that section. Time to solder
