Quinn BrennemanFort Wayne Recording Connection

First Week Posted on 2017-05-26 by Quinn Brenneman

This week was very laid back which was nice as it gave me an opportunity to connect with Josef and George. Josef is currently working on a project for a band called Chef Goldblum, which is a fantastic name, and we worked on mastering a few tracks using an outboard Dangerous Compressor. On Sunday I  was able to attend and help out with recording a live event. We did live recording for the South Bend Chamber Singers at the Church of Our Lady of Lorretto on Saint Mary's campus using 5 mics and some PreSonus preamps. The mic we used for the overhead was a vintage AKG C24! Such an amazing mic... Everything was then routed through an Orion 32 channel mixer and into ProTools (controlled by an Avid S3 mixer) where it was recorded. The stereo signal from the C24 went directly to an SD card recorder as a sort of backup, and everything then went on a few master cd's as well as to a hard drive recorder. I helped run cables when we set up, and helped pack every up once we were done. Good first week and I'm looking forward to learning more from and working with the Ace Mobile team.
