About Lilly
My name is Lilly Carey and I am 16 years old. I attended Hendrick Hudson High School from 2009-2012, I took extra classes and graduated one year early. I attend The Audio Recording Connection and I am an audio engineering intern with Steve Addabbo at Shelter Island Sound in New York City.
I love going to concerts and shows, listening to music, hanging out with my friends and, taking things apart and putting them back together. I have seen too many bands to name live but some of my favorite performances were from Metallica, Slayer, Avenged Sevenfold and Three Days Grace.
My favorite thing about my major is learning about how to make music sound as clear as possible and how I get to start out by working with an industry professional. I enjoy projects and watching things come together so I can only imagine the feeling of knowing that I helped create something so big. I look forward to these next few months so much and can't wait to see what i'm going to come across.
To me, the best feeling in the world is going to a concert. I love the energy from the band to the crowd and vice-versa but most of all I love watching either the artist or the bands expressions while they perform because they know that they sound amazing and I am determined to be a part of that. That's why I want to be a live sound engineer, I have always worked hard for things I wanted and there's nothing more that I want than the total feeling of accomplishment when that artist walks off of their stage. Interning at an amazing recording studio is a great way to start!
