Studio Lesson 15- Time-Based Effects Posted on 2015-10-05 by Braden Lerat

As far as exciting stories go for this chapter, and next upcoming chapters. Shall we say they lack a certain spark, but the lesson still remains.  We discussed the applications of delay and reverberation, and their usefulness especially within the realm of electronically produced sounds.  Your basic electronic sounds (unless it's what you are looking for specifically) have certain computerized sound that lacks, well life! Time-based effects add space to whatever you apply it to which can even make a 1K sine wave sound somewhat viable within a song.  Again though like compression you can over do it, but instead of a decreased dynamic range you end up with a muddy distorted mess where you cannot make out a particular sound if you wanted to.
