Advanced Audio first few weeks and review Posted on 2016-12-14 by Bobbie Sears

I have been working out compatability issues on several computer systems in my home studio and it has been an on going project since the first day at school here. I have decided to hit the recording thing from a different angle and I have decided to include learning everything about the computer hardware and software that we all use to record audio with at the same time.

I have had a chance so far to use many audio interfaces with many different configurations of computer hardware and effects. My interface list includes M-Audio Mtrack , Mackie Onyx satellite Fire Wire connected, Avid Eleven Rack I use it as both a Guitar Pre Amp and a USB Audio Interface. The Eleven has given me the best sounding results. It works well in the studio through control room monitors and sounds great played through the amp1 and amp 2 outputs into my marshall 50 watt head and a generic 50 watt class 2 power amp both through marshall 4x12 cabs to add stereo for live rig..

It has taken some time to realize that once you find a setup that works well dont change a thing. I finally end up with two PCs and a Mac that record well and i am now using my systems to record from. It took many many hours to get to were i am now.

I have also been studying for my A+ certification and have completed the 220-901. and i am waiting for my test date on Jan 12 to complete my course. I had a ton of experience in the subject but I learned that without that Certification any skills in that field dont mean crap in the job market. So i will fall back and combine what i learn here and hopefully come out in the end with something that will help to find work. I think that it will make all the difference in the end.

Again my goal is to not just to Record Audio but to know the Recording Systems and Hardware that we use and to know what the real story is behind the scenes when things dont go like they should.
