Day 11: Watched How a Commercial was Made Posted on 2018-10-03 by Matthew Nichols

So, today was a little bit different starting out today.  The reason why it was a little bit different today was because my mentor had an appointment with somebody to come in and do a commercial and so my mentor showed me how the voices for the political commercials are made.  The guy that came in was named Shawn, and so Shawn was handed a little script of what to say in the commercial and as they went through six takes, all six takes were sounding good with little improvements within each take.  The political commercial was for the incoming governor for our state, New Mexico for Michelle Lujan Grisham as governor.  As I was watching how it was done, I found it interesting on how they make commercials.  I learn that a lot of things have to be done to do a commercial like how to do the money stuff afterwards and how its a good idea to be good at money and stuff.  After the commercial stuff was done, we started going over my Chapter 6 quiz.  I learned that a microphone is a transducer; anything that coverts one thing into another thing is considered a transducer.  For example, a solar panel is considered a transducer because it converts the sun's energy into electricity for our homes.  A wind turbine is considered to be a transducer because it converts wind energy into electricity for our needs.  So, today was an interesting fulfilled day and I hope that I can go into the studio and there will be maybe a car commercial being in the works.  I also learned that the high frequency plays an important part in music because if you came to a stop at a stop light for example and next to you, a car pulls up blasting music with the windows up.  You can't really tell what song is playing because you can only hear the bass and not the highs.  So, the high frequency is important for music.

So I just got back from the studio and today, my mentor and I did some music and worked on my original song!  I made some improvements/added some things to the song to finish the basic layout of the song!  I haven't came up with a name for the song yet but I am looking for something that makes sense with the song...
