On to Day 20: Music Progression - Posted on 2018-12-19 by Matthew Nichols

This morning, I went into the studio and this morning, I kinda started the class off by what I came across on Instagram about an audio engineering post.  So, when my mentor and I started class, I showed him this Insta post about audio engineers creating sound effects for this scene in this movie and they were using real objects and went along with the movie to make it sound like what the character is doing in the film.  In my opinion, I thought that this was an insteresting thing to show my mentor and I also just thought that it was interesting in general!  In the film, when the character were to get out some newspaper and set it down on the table, the audio engineer would do the exact same thing the character did and there were two audio engineers creating the sound effects for the scene in the film.  My mentor asked me if I knew what creating those type of sound effects were called and I replied saying that I didn't.  Then my mentor explained to me that, that process of creating those sound effects were called, "Poley!"  So, I thought that the audio engineering post was an interesting way to start the day off and I hope that I come across some more of those type of posts!
