Organization! Be organized and Plan ahead. It's always a very good practice to stay professional, organized and to have a backup plan to the first plan if need be. This will not be a issue for me. I love to plan and stay organized. A great tool that I learned was comments in the session. Comments will really help the engineer if the artist was already using a mic that they know for a fact makes they're voice Pop! That's another fantasy tool that should be utilized. Be prepared!
