Lesson 10 : Introduction to Pro Tools, M Box Day!

Today we discussed the arival of my Scarlett 2i2 Focusrite (substitured for the M Box).  The Scarlett 2i2 is a great tool for recording on the go, no need to be chained to the board in the studio.  With a lap top and the 2i2, you can record anywhere.  While I already have a Digi 002 interface, it is still a usefull tool.  We discussed some of the differences between Pro Tools 10 and 11.  Dahl runs Pro Tools 10 HD and is not yet ready to upgrade.  I was very impressed to learn that Pro Tools 11 allows for the user to have both 10 and 11 installed on their system, a first for Pro Tools.  Also a first for Pro Tools, allowing users the freedom of choice for interface.  Many users have been waiting quite awhile for this freedom.  It is no surprise that Pro Tools has become the industry standard.
