Today we discussed the basics of how MIDI works and the benefits behind it.  This is where the Digital World really comes into play in the recording industry today.  So much of what you hear in todays Pop, Hip Hop, R&B, and even Rock genres can all be produced in a studio without any need for musicians.  An artist can truly have complete control over every aspect of a song without needing any musicians in the studio to create it.  I see this becoming more popular even in the Rock genre.  Allowing musicians the ability to create a demo to take into the studio to present to band members, coming in with a complete idea ready to be polished and tweaked.  This process can save bands a lot of time and more importantly, money, when working on a project.
