Lessons 2 and 3

Today we coverd lessons 2 and 3.  We discussed studio acoustics and the mixing room and the importance of learning how your mixing room sounds and what levels are best in your space.  We talked about how diffusers work in a sound room and why they are so important to your mixing ability.  How they capture unwanted reflections that can alter sound and effect your ability to create a well rounded and accurate mix.  We also discussed how to use furniture as a diffuser.  I never put much thought into the fact that furniture like book shelves and couches acted as such great diffusers.  Today I observed Dahl during a mixing session as he cleaned vocal tracks for a project.  Great day today!
