Rick had me come up to the studio to make up time for when we haven't been on our regular schedule. The holidays made it hard to manuever around since people were out of town/ partying. So, he has me pull up a session of a major church group's project that will be released worldwide soon, and had me organize the tracks to my liking and arrange them/ clean up and assign the outputs to the channels on the board. I was extatic! It was amazingly recorded and sounded like a mainstream worship song. I pulled up a rough mix after labeling the tape, showed Rick and pulled everything down and left. I felt amazing the rest of the day, getting to mix an almost mainstream song on a console just like the dudes in the 60's-90's use to is exactly what I've always wanted! I was the first person to lay hands on it since it was recorded. He had other student's have a go at doing rough mixes on it and started having us patch reverbs in and do a little more in depth mixing on a project copy, but that first day was exhilarating to say the least.
