Hey what's up everybody! Welcome to my Recording Connection Blog! So, if you've been to my page already you probably already know a little bit about me. I've worked in the entertainment industry now for over 15 years but mostly as an artist, songwriter, arranger, and doing artist development.
When I started to produce other artists and even began work on my own projects, I knew what I wanted and how I wanted it but being the one to ENGINEER it was simply out of the question (the technical component was just simply not my gift). But after having encountered so many non-dependable, unmotivated, and unenthusiastic engineers, I realized that commitment was something that was very hard to come across and if I was going to get something done, I had to do it myself!
Finally, I put on my big boy pants and said, "Hey! You gotta do what you gotta do!" and engineering a little (you know...pressing record, stop, and play - all the advanced, important stuff! lol) and learning the basics Pro-Tools, Logic, Cubase and some others just to have at the least have a fundamental knowledge so that I could better convey what I needed to hear in my projects.
(Sigh) At long last, I've stepped out on faith after realizing the amount of money I could save myself in the long run by picking up this new skill, a very valuable one at that, and do it myself! So far...I love doing it! There's still more to learn and it's going to be an interesting journey being in the Recording Connection program but I'm always up for a challenge! Not to mention I'm working with the best of the best in Baton Rouge, Devon Kirkpatrick. #TeamTopNotch
