Today I arrived at the recording studio at about 10 a.m. to sit in on a session that started at 11 a.m. I watched as my mentor constructed a sampled beat from a song that the artist liked and wanted to remix. Jeremy took a sample straight from Youtube and began to filter it and set it at the correct tempo so he could mix it and add his own instruments to it. He took in a lot of input from the artist so he could make exactly what he wanted. I then watched as the artist recorded the chorus on his song. Today really showed me that as an audio engineer you have to be able to work in close quarters and on the spot.
