So the other day I went in to sit in on a session and the client never showed up. I was disappointed because I thought I'd have to leave and anytime I get to come to the studio I really look forward to it. Devon surprised me though. He said he had some office work to take care of and asked if I wanted to play around with a mix and the console. I absolutely did. So he made a copy of a mix he had done for a client and removed everything he did to it. He told me how to label the tracks on the console over the faders. I was stoked. This was my first time getting to really touch the console and working in Pro Tools. I didn't completely know what I was doing, but I sure enjoyed trying to figure stuff out. I was able tot ask him some questions. A couple hours later he came in and showed me the original mix he had done. I looked through it and he explained why he did a couple things. I think that might have been my favorite trip to the studio yet. I'm just working on getting through the manual on that console. It's a Yamaha DM2000.
