This week I learned about Pro Tools plug-ins and file exchanging methods. I learned that WeTransfer is a file transfer service with which you can send large files to people. With the original free version of WeTransfer, you can only send up to 2GB of data at a time, but with WeTransfer Plus, you can send unlimited amounts of data at a time. An artist you're working with can send you audio files that they have recorded; you can then import the files into a project that's already in progress and mix/edit them so they fit with that mix. Having a delay plug-in active along with an Auto-Tune plug-in can cause the Auto-Tune to sound somewhat "rough." This is because the Auto-Tune plug-in is trying to tune the delays, as well, not just the original audio. A company called M-Audio (who creates audio interfaces, MIDI keyboards, and other recording equipment) makes a lot of free plug-ins for Pro Tools, such as Auto-Tune, flangers, equalizers, etc. However, the effects are only free for a certain amount of time after you have downloaded them.
