Week 15 Blog Posted on 2015-05-23 by Andrew Jordan

This week's blog post is quite short. Like last week, my mentor and I only ended up meeting on one day rather than two. As a result, I only have the few notes I took during that session.

This week I did some recording, and learned a little about track organization in Pro Tools. I learned that you should make sure you have the tracks organized (which ones consist of the verses, hooks, ad-libs, etc.). Sometimes an artist will record hooks and ad-libs on songs as a blueprint for the final product, and typically the remaining portions will be recorded by another (probably featured) artist.

I also learned how to utilize time-based effects in the Mix Assignment that I am currently working on (delay, reverb, chorus, flanger, phaser, etc.). It has been a very interesting experience, and I look forward to doing more mixing in the future.
