Hello folks!
Yesterday I had another session at the studio. I played around with mixing guitars and bass. Yes, I am learning a lot and this is being a great experience.
So today I have finished the mixing I had started last week. So new we have a complete song! Below you can find some printscreens of the Logic project:

So, basically for the guitars I boosted the mid region. There's a big boost in the low mids to emphasize the punchy sound I wanted, and a smaller boost in high mids to get rid of that muffy sound. There are two rhythm guitars, and each one of them was panned to one side (guitar 1 is 100% right and guitar 2 100% left). I really like the result of this panning.
For the bass, I obviously boosted a little bit of the low region, but there's a huge boost around 2kHz. That was one of the tips I learned in the studio! Boosting that region will emphasize that "dirt" from the bass sound and I really wanted that.
Another very interesting tip I learned is about vocals. To give more body to the voice, I created a copy of the voice track. In the copy track, I added a low pass filter and cutted everything above 500hz. This will sound quite muffy by itself, but combined with the original track makes the voice grow a little bit. Of course you have to watch out for the volumes of both original and copy tracks. You can see it in the figure below:

Now for what really matters, you can check the results in the link below. The song is called Little Bastard and it was composed in 2012:

I had already done a mix for this same song back in 2012. You can check the difference between them:

So, which one you think sounds better?
That's all for today!
Cheers!
