Game Audio Posted on 2014-07-12 by Felipe Grisi

Hello everyone!

It's been sometime since my last post! Yes, I know! Well, I've been kind of busy, but here I am again to write something to you.

Actually, I would like to keep things short for today. No, I'm not lazy.

Besides music, I really LOVE game audio. I really like to create sounds effects. We can make all the sound effects from a video game or movie to sound like part of the sound track. Music is made of sounds anyway. Every sound can be musical. That depends on how we use and organize it. By the way, I really recommend all the works from Pierre Schaeffer, who created a musical aesthetics called musique concrete. Schaeffer used to record every day sounds (like the sound of a train passing by, nature sounds and etc) and compose with them. Of course he used to edit the sounds to fit his needs. He was already using techniques like slowing audio down, reversing and etc back in the 50's. Along with Karlheinz Stockhausen, he was one of the precursors of Computer Music.

Back to game audio, I would like to post a youtube link to one of my works. It's a demo for how I created the sounds for AngryBots game. I hope you like it!

See you next time!
