Chapter 9 and a session Posted on 2015-06-11 by Joe Kepich

Chapter 9 was Pro Tools Basics. Before We got started on the lesson I sat in on a pretty cool session. It was a female RnB type artist whos name escapes me. My mentor and her were recording vocals for a song that my mentor did a lot of the production on. Which is something along with engineering I would like to be efficient at. The song itself was pretty unigue. Sticking to the RnB roots have heavy guitar tones over a live rock sounding drum beat. From what I gathered from the song lyrics it was a song of truth about the current times we live in. All in all was really awesome and actually song i could get into and get behind the message as well. Thats one of the most important things to me in music, the message behind it.

The session was about two hours long and after it we jumped right into the lesson. Pro Tools Basics. Each week class keeps getting more and more exciting feeding the fuel of my desires and motivating me to really try and learn all I possibly can. Even though it was just the basics i listened and absorbed everything. Knowing that it would only serve me good in the process of becoming me(Joe) the audio engineer. As soon as Brad helped me set up my audio interface I imediately set up some of my own sessions with artists who are my friends.
