Today before we got into the lesson I had the opportunity to sit in on a session with a 16 year old Hip Hop artist by the name of Issiah(Spelling?). Ironically, it was a mixing session which worked out to my advantage. I got to chat with him a bit and he had been creating music from an even younger age than 16. Working with my mentor before at the age of 13. I personally thought that was pretty cool to be already learning the process in an actual studio at such a young age. Safe to say he can only get better and I hope the best for him.

After about a 2 hour session it was finally start talking about Mix Theroy. Was really excited to start this latter half of my schooling and the lesson didnt dissappoint. The portion of the recording process where your artist ability as an engineer really gets to shine. Also getting to start on an actual song with a rough mix for homework! Definitely the type of homework I look forward to doing and can't wait to start building and creating a rough mix!
