Arpit PappuColumbia Recording Connection

Still trying to settle in! Posted on 2013-03-22 by Arpit Pappu

But I have to be honest with everyone here, after class I felt like I had actually learnt something! A recording studio can be made in any spot in the world, depending on what we are looking for and what our clients are requiring. But at the same time how to control those sounds that we hear and the ones that we want to hear and do not want to hear. Mr. Gary was the one who went through todays notes with me and man is he a kind hearted soul who can actually make sure that I am learning.
But here is the kicker, after the lesson we had some time to spare, and we jumped back on to the console and did what we did last week. The MS micing patter and the reversing the polarity to cancel out the out of phase sounds that we were bussing out to the booth! And this time around I actually was not shivering when I was moving a fader up or down. Eric put me upto a challenge and asked me to have that entire process down pat the next time I came around.
And here is what I said. I guess I will, Eric.

Lesson 2 - Studio Design and Monitors
