In this lesson over dynamic signal processing, we went over the effectiveness of using compressers, limiters, and gates in a mix. He showed me some of the vintage compressors that are used at the Eagle studios, and the different effects and colorations that they apply to a mix. It was a helpful lesson indeed, I didn't realize before how much of an effect that compression has on things like vocals and bass.
